Artists working in all media and at all levels of their career are encouraged to submit an application. Applications will be judged based on the nature of sample works, CV, the project(s) proposed, the compelling nature of the artist’s discussion of their project(s), and the potential to make a contribution to the public and to the artist’s own career while in residency.

The JHS Foundation staff will review applications and select artists for each Spring and Fall. Applicants may not be a resident artist in another residency program at the same time as a The JHS Foundation residency.  The Chicago Residency at our Hyde Park Headquarters has an open 12 month A.I.R. Schedule. Once your application is reviewed, JHS Foundation will contact you.

Good News Alert:  All accepted International 2024 Artists will receive the JHS FOUNDATION Grant
towards partial cost of Residency.  Two week Artist-In-Residency Grant $ 750.  Four week Artist-In- Residency Grant, $1,500.  In exchange for the grant The Artist agrees to contribute one work to the permanent collection of JHS arts  foundation.

Applications are now OPEN for A.I.R. 2024 in Rimaucourt, France May 15 - July 15, 2024  all application fields must be sent at the same time - program does not save your information.
There is a one time $50.00  application fee, payable online as donation.
